My name is Jennifer Middleton. I grew up with dogs, but my first own dog ‘Scout’ has been with me for 7 years now. He is the puppy you see on the homepage.

I live in the suburbs of Chicago and usually have Scout and another shelter dog with me. I am a sitter for the local animal shelter and take in dogs that have been returned for their separation anxiety. I am a freelance journalist by trade and a ‘dog helper’ on the side. After doing this for a few years, I have learned a ton about how to read dog body language and treat their separation anxiety.
